Blackberry Storm 9500 and Samsung Pixon 8800 are two high end touch screen phones. But both of these are targeted to two completely different sections of users. Blackberry Storm 9500 is an absolute business phone whereas Samsung Pixon 8800 will attract people who love to grab a master camera phone.

The 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touch screen of Storm 9500 supports 65K colors at 320 x 240 pixels resolution. And the Pixon 8800 comes with a TFT resistive touch sensitive display of exactly same measurement allowing 262K colors at 240 x 400 pixels resolution. Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate is a commonly presented feature. But the Blackberry Storm’s display characteristics are much more appealing than its contender as it brings few outstanding attributes like touch screen QWERTY keyboard, touch screen font size selectable, SureType, Multi Tap etc.

Samsung Pixon 8800’s camera features are clear winner as its 8 mega pixel camera has broomed away the 3.2 mega pixel camera of Blackberry Blackberry Storm 9500. The Pixon’s camera renders auto focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, image stabilization, wide dynamic range etc. features that give great still and video outputs. Although Pixon’s contender cannot beat it but nevertheless Storm’s camera also comes with auto focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, image stabilization capabilities as well.

Media playing ability of Blackberry Storm 9500 is really inspiring. The phone comes with a media player that allows MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus music files on it. Furthermore, the special Roxio Media Manager feature has also been presented. The given video player supports MP4, 3gp, H.264, WMV video files. On the other hand, the Samsung Pixon 8800 music player comes with Surround Sound System feature and it plays MP3, WMA, eAAC+ & AMR music files on it. DivX, XviD, H.263, H.264, WMV, MP4 video files are acceptable on the video player of the phone.

Both these contenders have got similar data sharing and connectivity abilities including 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, USB (Micro USB in case of Pixon), GPRS and EDGE. Document viewing is also a commonly found attribute while you can also edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on Blackberry Storm 9500. The Storm 9500 comes with only HTML web browser whereas the Pixon 8800 has got WAP 2.0, X-HTML and HTML browsers. But the Storm has got RIM Wireless Modem feature as well. Both the rivals carry same navigation feature that includes GPS navigation system with A-GPS support But the Storm 9500 also sports Blackberry Maps application too.
