The mobile phone industry has been flooded with a huge array of Windows based smartphones. With high profile companies leading the way such as HTC which is bringing in new features such as larger integrated touch screens, rival companies need to respond. Entered Acer, the name well known in making computer orientated products and excelled in the notebook and laptop era. Now it has decided to enter the smartphone fray. Their phones are really making much turbulence in the market. New Acer DX900 and Acer F900 are two among them.

Both of the phones come with touch sensitive screens along with special features like widget based user interface and handwriting recognition. While the DX 900 is an step ahead than the other one and also sports accelerometer sensor for UI rotate and light sensor. The displays of DX900 and F900 measure 2.8 inches allowing 65K colors at 480 x 640 pixels resolution and 3.8 inches allowing 65K colors at 480 x 800 pixels resolution respectively.

The Acer DX900 looks a bit chunky in 106 x 60.5 x 17 mm dimensions and weighs around 147 grams. On the other hand Acer F900 comes with 117.5 x 63.5 x 12.9 mm dimensions and is slightly heavier to weigh around 150 grams.

These two gadgets come with exactly same camera features as both of these sport 3.15 mega pixel camera along with auto focus and LED flash facilities and click pictures at 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. Moreover, both these chums carry an MP3 player each to serve the music feature. But the F900 sports FM radio while the feature is missing in Acer DX900.

These gadgets have given special look over their business features thus brought the attractive Pocket Office feature with them which allows to access Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files on the phones. Both of these render GPS navigation system assisted through SiRF Star III chipset software. For connectivity and data sharing both of the brothers include 3G HSDPA, WLAN Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, USB, GPRS and EDGE technologies. The Samsung S3C 6410 533 MHz processor works perfectly through the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system of Acer DX900 and Acer F900. While the DX900 comes with 128MB RAM & 256 ROM as internal memory along with the MicroSD card slot, the users of F900 will have to be satisfied with the card slot only.
